CORPS MEMBER DONATES SCHOOL UNIFORM TO 100 KATSINA PUPILS

A member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Nafisah Umar Hassan, has donated school uniforms to 100 pupils of Batagarawa Low-cost Primary School in Katsina State.

Nafisah, with registration number KT/24A/1178 and currently serving with the state Ministry of Environment, distributed the uniforms to the beneficiaries at the school premises.

Speaking while distributing the uniforms to the beneficiaries, the corps member said the donation was part of her Community Development Service (CDS) aimed at alleviating the plight of the school children.

She stated that the beneficiaries were pupils from poor homes whose parents could not afford their uniforms and those who lost their parents due to the nefarious activities of bandits.

She said: “I embarked on this project to assist the pupils because most of them have the interest and the zeal to go to school. This will assist them in pursuing their elementary education.”

In his remarks, the state NYSC Coordinator, Ibrahim Saidu, thanked the corps member for her ingenuity and decision to carry out the humanitarian project.

He called on other serving corps members in the state to emulate Nafisah by carrying out similar or other projects in their host communities.

Saidu admonished the 34 local government chairmen in the state to always give corps members the needed support in carrying out their community development service.
