END INCESSANT FUEL SCARCITY, APC CHIEFTAIN BEGS TINUBU

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Mr. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene and end the reoccurring challenge of inadequate fuel supply causing a scarcity in the country.

Oyintiloye, in a statement obtained in Osogbo on Sunday, said that the President’s intervention was needed due to the suffering Nigerians were facing on a monthly basis due to fuel scarcity.

The ex- lawmaker, who said that Nigerians had hoped scarcity of fuel had ended after subsidy on the product was removed by the Federal Government, noted that rather than the situation improving, the fuel situation had since then become worse.

He lamented that lately, Nigerians have been going through untold hardships to get the product at a very high price.

He subsequently appealed to the President to beam a searchlight into the activities of Nigerian Nigeria National Petroleum Company in order to unravel the immediate and remote causes of the persistent fuel scarcity.

“In recent months, Nigerians have been having it tough getting petroleum products at filling stations across the country. I want to appeal to the president to come to the rescue of Nigerians who are passing through untold hardship due to fuel scarcity.“Fuel scarcity is now becoming a normal routine of daily life in Nigeria, which is supposed not to be. For the past few weeks now, Nigerians have been sleeping in filling stations across the country in a bid to get fuel for their businesses and vehicles.

While many of the filing stations do not have the product, those who have it are selling at very exorbitant prices. Nigerians are going through a lot, and that is why the president will have to intervene and put an end to the severe hardship people are going through,” Oyintiloye said.As part of measures to address the challenge, he also urged the President to revamp government refineries in the country to stabilise the cost of the product.
